Glossary of Terms:
- Accessorial Services: Services other than transportation which are performed at your request for an additional charge. (Examples: packing, and unpacking, storage in-transit, appliance servicing.)
- Appliance Servicing: Any service required to prepare major appliances for safe transportation. (Examples: disconnecting and capping the gas line to a clothes dryer, securing the tub of a clothes washer, removing shelves from a refrigerator.)
- Bill of Lading: Receipt for your belongings and the contract for their transportation.
- Change Order: A form used to indicate any changes from the original contract.
- Booking Branch: The branch of the mover that provides the service at origin.
- Destination Branch: The branch of the mover located at or near your destination.
- Estimate: A calculation of the transport charges, as well as costs for additional services requested for by the customer.
- Inventory: A listing of each unit shipped (furniture, cartons and other individual items not packed) and their pre-move condition.
- Moving Consultant: The mover’s sales representative responsible for providing the customer with the estimate.
- Order for Service: Document authorizing your mover to perform the contracted service.
- Storage in Transit: Temporary storage (60 days or less) of a customers household goods.
- Packing Supplies: Standard cartons of various sizes, Mirror carton, Crystal carton, Mattress carton, China barrel, Tape, Bubble wrap.
